What does it look like when one of the most loyal fan bases in sports finally — finally — gets sweet relief?

This is what it looks like: Chicago on Wednesday night, after the Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in a marathon World Series Game 7. They've only been waiting more than 100 years for this.

The Cubs ended their 108-year World Series drought in Cleveland — but back in Chicago, fans who couldn't make the trip and drop $50,000 for tickets, predictably lost their collective minds.

We hope no one was hurt, as happens too often these situations — but here are some of the more joyous scenes from Wednesday night's post-victory jubilation in Chicago.

1. Fans filled the streets.

5. But this might have been the most magical moment of all.

6. Wrigley Field itself took a shot at Cleveland blowing a 3-1 series lead after ginning up some bad karma.

And now, an important message from Wrigley Field 😂

7. And it all sounded surreal from way up high.

A friend sent me this video of the sounds of Chicago now from a rooftop there. Bonkers.

8. This doesn't seem real safe but ... hey.

9. Folks might be late to work tomorrow.

This is a party that won't stop until 2017 Opening Day next April. So congrats, Cubs fans. And Chicago — be safe.
